Good Chiropractor in London? - TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

Hello everyone,

I am travelling to London to see a TMJ specialist. I have also made an appointment with a trigger point therapist. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good chiropractor in London? I will be in the UK for two weeks and would like to address as many problems as possible.

TMJ specialists often work with chiros or know of good chiros by reputation or word of mouth so maybe you should give them a call and they can provide you with a recommendation or referral - although I realize it would be more preferable to see one that a member has tried or goes to.

Do you have postural issues as well? If you look in the mirror are you symmetrical? Do you have a stiff neck and shoulders?

I had trigger point therapy at one stage but because the underlying cause remained untreated it was only of short term benefit. I found out my C1 was rotated causing complete havoc to my neck, shoulder and facial muscles and lots of other awful symptoms which caused me often to think I was loosing my mind.

There is a Canadian lady in London called Heidi Grant, she's a NUCCA chiropractor and works with a few neuromuscular dentists in the Harley Street area -

I can't recommend her highly enough.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Would the chiropractor be able to tell me if there was something wrong with my posture, cervical spine, etc,? What kind of scanning do they use? I was thinking of getting a CAT scan of my neck and spinal cord before travelling to London since it is much cheaper to have it done here in Jordan.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter,..

I can only tell you about how NUCCA chiropractors work but I would say any chiro could tell immediately by looking at your posture if something was out of alignment in your spine. Also they will have you lie down and if one leg is shorter than the other its a sure sign.

If you look at some of the websites with before and after photos of patient's posture the change is extraordinary. For me apart from lots of other things I noticed that my friends look smaller but only because I had got taller! My head is on straight now and not hunched forwards.

If your have clearly visible postural imbalances then a NUCCA chiropractor will x-ray to see exactly how the C1 is misaligned and then again after the adjustment to see the improvement so its very evidence based.

Getting a CAT scan can't be wrong and can help confirm if you have any spinal alignment issues going on. By the way the pound collapsed so London got a LOT cheaper
