| Re: Trigger Point Injections
Hi Klowieboyz....I just had trigger point injections yesterday afternoon. I was in a sailing accident two years ago and was hit in the face by the boom of the boat and knocked unconscious. For two years I have been struggling with severe pain in my tmj and entire face and neck from the whiplash. After many different types of treatment (massage, accupuncture, physical therapy, chirpractic, retainers and meds) my doc finally recommended the shots. I was so scared and nervous for them. I had two in my neck (more at the base of the head) and one in my jaw, closer to the middle of the face though. I'm not gonna lie...it hurt. I was very sore last night and felt very stiff, but I woke up this morning feeling better and my kneck and joing is feeling more relaxed..not so stiff. I'm hoping as the days go on and the injection side doesn't hurt any more, i will know the full effects of the shot. My doc swears by them, adn i've heard from many people who have had them and also swear they worked. The problem is, it's not something that is done once, it needs to be done many times. I'm nervous to have to go back, but if it works and leaves me pain free, i'm willing to do it. Hopefully this helps.... marie
