| A question about disc displacement
Hi everyone,
I have a maybe stupid question, if there is such a thing. From what i have heard about tmj that a lot of people have the problem of displaced discs in the jaw, the become displaced in a trauma, they become displaced from muscle spasm, etc. So my question is...
Can these discs ever just move back into place on there own??
Because my mom gets horrendously loud popping in her jaw from time to time and sometimes it'll last a few minutes and sometimes all day, but with no pain. So when her jaw isn't popping anymore, are her discs back where they should be?? most of the time its when she's chewing things really hard, eating sunflower seeds, gum, etc. Because if my discs are displaced for whatever reason(forceful manipulation), is it possible with work on the muscle spasm and relaxion and whatever other natural methods that they will correct themselves??
Thanks, D-nicole
