TMJ, right side of head symptoms, connect?

About a couple of months ago, I started to get pressure and some pain on the right side of my head. Also, I began to get pressure throughout the forehead (like pointing a finger on my forehead-type feeling). After a couple of days, the right side of my jaw started to click and snap. I went to a tmj specialist and diagnosed me with tmj disorder and sent me in for a surgery (I forgot the name but it was usually the least surgery). What's weird is that it did not do anything; the feeling of jaw clicking, and right side and forehead pressure started to come back again. Let me explain better in detail:

"The right side of my head started to have pressure BEFORE TMJ. This is what gets me confused; can people get head problems before tmj?

"My right side head pressure is so annoying and uncomfortable, makes me feel as if im in a airplane and my ear is clotted or something.

Are these symptoms normal and related to tmj? Even though that the tmj started after the right side pressure? I am just too nervous about going to a doctor and get tested for brain problems, etc. Please let me know what you think, thanls.

Hi--It sounds like you are having classic muscular problems in your face from a tmj problem . What I can't quite get passed from your post is that a tmj specialist did surgery on you right off the bat? That is a big red flag, and please don't go back to them. Do you have another tmj specialist you can see? Don't let them do anything that invasive to you until you've had more tests done, like an x-ray or muscle testing. Post where you live and maybe someone can give you a referral. Good luck----

I know a lot of us have been all over to many doc's to figure out what's wrong, but have you ruled out other problems like vertigo or gone to an ENT too? Like I really think I have tmj b/ I still think it's worth get tests done to rule out other serious possibilities.

Re: TMJ, right side of head symptoms, connect?

first off- what kind of sx did he do?????? surgery is always the very very last resort.

what did the mri of the tmj show?

Have you had recent dental work before this or some kind of fall or injury?

I also have the head pressure, and have started getting ncr treatments that hope help. Maybe see a cranial osteopath, or go to your family doctor and have a brain cat scan or mri done.
