Exclamation Dizziness from cranial Sacral treatments...

Hi all---
For those of you who are in splint therapy, or in Cranial Sacral treatment, (especially those who have had tmjd for a long time..) do you ever get pretty severe dizziness from a Cranial Adjustment? 2 treatments back I got so dizzy from my maxilla being adjusted and worked on that I could hardly drive myself home. It lasted for almost 3days until I could have another appt. Keep in mind my facial structure is totally out of whack, and I'm really asymmetrical,(sp)...Any thoughts on this guys??????
Thanks, J.

I've never had cranial sacral treatment, but if someone massages my neck too hard, I get dizzy.

Re: Dizziness from cranial Sacral treatments...

Yes me too, I was getting it for two years, of course wearing dentures and splints at the same time, just got worst. I finally quit, have started getting NCR instead. My first treatment with the ncr helped alot, but the second one he had me leave my upper denture in, and the palate interferred, so I will leave my denture out next time.

Re: Dizziness from cranial Sacral treatments...

i had two sessions of cranio sacral therapy and found it to be short relief for a lot of money. i felt fine for two hours and then back to crap. i don't see this as a solution but rather just a quick fix that in the long run isnt a good idea. i would see a TMJ specialist and consider seeing a pain management therapist (while you have the option of medication, i get shots of anti-inflammatory directly into the muscle giving me direct relief that last longer and is cheaper.

Re: Dizziness from cranial Sacral treatments...

I believe that J has been seeing a tmj specialist for a few months now, and has had splints for a couple of months already.

CST is suggested by some tmj specialists as a companion treatment to tmj therapy, one enhances the effects of the other, and makes the overall treatment more effective - and hopefully not as long in duration ;-).

Hope your dizziness is better J!
