What's worked for me

Hi

These are some things that have worked for me. I have been doing these things for a long time now, and when done consistently, have helped at least somewhat. Please add to the list so we can learn new things to try

Fish Oil-I take Carlson's cod liver oil. This brand has no mercury, Reduces inflammation and helps pain.

Cal/Mag-helps muscle spasms

Lying on back when sleeping-helps joints not to hurt as much. if i lay on my side for even a minute i can feel pain in corresponding joint.

not wearing high heels-helps posture, back, etc

not wearing hair in ponytail helps headaches

not wearing headphones/objects on head helps headaches

yoga-certain positions (no bending over like downward dog)
makes me feel like my muscles are more relaxed

feather pillow-is kinda flat and helps neck pain

Re: What's worked for me

-cold ice packs on affected areas. (neck, shoulders, side of face)
-valerian root tea before bed. do not steep for more than 5 minutes!
-massages
-if you can get to a pain doctor i get shots of marcaine pretty much all from the shoulders and up. it hurts but it helps.
-put your hand under your chin when you yawn as to not open it wide.
-if you have no splints or guards, a nightguard will help if you are a grinder. They run about $25.
-always sleep on your back. sleeping any other way will strain the affected muscles. having a contour pillow helps A LOT. it is my best friend.
-if you are a smoker...quitting will help you a lot. the muscles you use to inhale are the same ones generally in spasm and will tend to hurt them. bad idea.
-cut down on caffeine. this is my hardest one believe it or not.
-watch your posture.

that's about all i can think of. hope it helps!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
