just so frustrated

Hello everyone. I just wanted to complain for a minute. Sorry. I have been VERY good about eating mostly soft foods, but today, I just couldn't do it. I just had some popcorn, (more than I should have) and after a few handfuls, mu jaw is so sore. Just for the record, it's just not fair. I love the crunchy things in life, so this is a difficult disorder. I am so tired of eating soft small and really small portions. No bagels, sandwiches, etc, you guys know. I am just having a pity party here. Feel free to join.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: just so frustrated

I'm going at this alone. I have finally somehow gotten used to the fact that I will have a headache for the rest of my life. 80% of the time my eyeball feels like it is about to pop out and I wake up with ear pain. The dizziness has come back after going away on its own for a good several months....

Welcome to living with a chronic condition.

Re: just so frustrated

thanks, I feel your pain. I am sitting here, with my face throbbing trying to decide, ibuprofen or not, what to do. I hate taking it, usually it doesn't seem to work when I take 200mg. I guess I need 400, but then it makes me nervous to take it. I am used to it by now, but still hate it.

Re: just so frustrated

Thanks for replying. I doubt that my insurance company would pay for any of this. They won't pay for any treatment so I am sure this would be the same. Do you know if the surgery would help for arthritis of the jaw? I have that as well as TMJ. thanks

Re: just so frustrated

HI all----Surgery on the tmj area is the absolute last resort when it comes to treatment. It should never be entered into lightly, and should be used only in extreme situations. The Tmj association states that only 4% of cases are surgicals. Have a good day all!

Thanks, yeah, I agree about the surgery. It scares me as I have not heard such great results from it. In the meantime I guess it's soft foods and ibuprofen.
