Re: TMJ and dizziness?

Bellasmom1
I have the same thing, several weird neurological symptoms (including an off-balance feeling that comes and goes on its own), and nobody could see anything wrong. I have seen a regular chiro that was of no help. However, I have read that an upper cervical chiro is a totally different thing, and sometimes helps people like us, that have unexplained illness. They attribute those symptoms to atlas subluxation, that causes your head to shift off balance with the body and thus the neurological symptoms. Upper cervical chiros do precise 3-dimensional x-rays to see if the subluxation is present and how exactly it is. After that, they do an "adjustment" to shift the atlas back into place. Supposedly, that brings immediate relief to so many people.
To be honest, at this point I am sceptical of everything; however, with nothing else helping, I am trying this. There are very few upper cervical chiros in my area and all of them are out of network, so I will have to pay a hefty bill. But I will give it a try anyway.

glad that upper cervical chiro helped you! This gives me some hope. I am seeing one tomorrow. I am pretty sure my head is off balance, because I can see how it's tilted - no matter how straight I try to keep it. I also notice that my spine and ribcage is rotated to compensate for the tilt, so I am developing like a very mild scoliosis. This is really upsetting. Please wish me good luck tomorrow!

Re: TMJ and dizziness?

I got better! I Massaged my jaw 4-5 times a day. Put ice on it 2-3 times a day. I also Rubbed arnica gel over the area. I get a Little pain every now and then but it goes away rather quickly. Taking Magnesium Supplements help too.

Re: TMJ and dizziness?

Does anyone just have the dizziness without the pain? I have always had TMJ but it never seemed serious.
