| Chronic Dislocations and no one will help!
I have a severe problem with my TMJ. I've had an arithrogram (sp?) done (a special type of xray where they inject dye directly into the tmj and take pictures) and I was told my condition is severe.
Well duh. I am in the ER nearly two times per month with my jaw dislocating, it locks shut nearly everyday, the popping is so loud that strangers give me funny looks, and the pain is so unbearable that even a regular dose of vicodin, nsaids, ice, and heat don't help at all. Sometimes the migraines and pain even make me vomit which makes it worse.
I have done everything; acupuncture, mouth guard, chiropractor visits, lidocaine injections, name it. I was told that I now need surgery, it's so severe that I HAVE to have it. I will not get better, I will get worse. My insurance won't cover the surgery and it's nearly $10,000!
What am I supposed to do? I am suffering now as we speak and in tears. I'd appreciate any ideas on where I should go next. Thank you!
