Very unexpectedly, I found out yesterday I have an infection in my replacement joint, and infection around the plates and screws where the maxilla surgery was done. My surgeon is planning to take out all the plates and screws, and gave me an antibiotic for e next two weeks. I am praying this will cleanup the infection in the joint! Has anyone had the surgery to remove the plates and screws from a Le Forte, or dealt with an infection in a replacement?
