Calmare- new nerve treatment

Im wondering if anyone has tried this new treatment called Calmare? From my understanding it is somewhat like a TENS unit. I have significant nerve pain following surgery and am planning to start this treatment next week.
It seems like it hasn't been used much for facial pain, so it is sort of a trial. I'm interested to see if it works though!

Re: Calmare- new nerve treatment

I'm interested too navymid!

Thanks for sharing this with us. Where do you go for Calmare treatments (what kind of healthcare practitioner administers them?) or are there home units you can purchase? What is cost like?

Please keep us posted and let us know if this helps you! Fingers crossed

Re: Calmare- new nerve treatment

Hey! I'm on day 2 of the treatment, no success yet. It actually has made the pain worse :-/ I'm going tomorrow as a last trial day. Im in the navy, and all navy hospitals offer the treatment. You can go to the Calmare website and it will tell you what locations have it. You have to go in to a dr office to get it since the person administering it has to be trained by the Calmare company.
I'll let you know if I have any success tomorrow.

Re: Calmare- new nerve treatment

Well, the Calmare treatment didn't work. My dr talked to several drs across the globe who have tried using it for facial pain. Apparently it has never been used for TMJ pain, or used successfully. So, I'm going to try Lyrica now. Oh well. It was worth a try though!

Definitely worth a shot. Gotta try new things on the road to finding what works.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Hope the Lyrica helps
