Numbness and tingling down one side of body, related to to tmj or not?? Scared :/

Hello,

Over the past 6 months I have developed tmj. I went to the dentist about it a few weeks ago and they said my wisdom teeth coming in and my overbite/stress is what's causing it. I've had terrible anxiety and OCD since I was like 5 years old, and it worsened with the concussion I got about a year ago. I can't open my mouth very wide, and when I do there is clicking and popping. No significant pain yet. I'm going to get a mouth guard and wisdom teeth taken out soon.

In the mean time last week all of a sudden half my body went numb for a second, but quickly it went away. This happened 2 or 3 times. Then the next day I noticed it felt a little different on that side, but I was hoping it was just anxiety and that it would go away. The next day I woke up and after walking around for like 5 minutes it came back almost full force, and 4 days later it still hasn't gone away. It's mostly in my left hand and foot, but it extends to about my elbow and knee. I felt a little bit in my face as well but I think I might have been imagining that. I was experiencing mild pain on the same side of my jaw as the numbness that week that it started, and some pain since then but not really. I also noticed my jaw was popping and clicking more at the time. It isn't a full numbness, I went to the doctor and they said no real weakness was there, just perceived weakness, meaning no MS or scary diseases. He also ruled out a pinched nerve because he pressed on a lot of different areas on my spine and neck and he said that would've made the symptoms worse if it was a pinched nerve. It's tingling and stuff also.

Has anyone ever experienced this before with tmj? I have no idea if it's related or not. I'm really scared ahhh

I would say it has much to do with your anxiety/OCD Doubt that you really have MS or anything else of that kind. No worries!
(but of course, your doctor needs to run all the necessary tests to be on the safe side, as always!)
