I was a case of severe TMJD and am now on the road to recovery. It was a long hard journey and finding the right doc was key. Like so many others on these sites, I first went to other neuromuscular dentists who actually made things worse! Things were so desperate that I was about to fly down to LVI Global in Las Vegas (the top training centre for post grad nm treatment for TMJ in the states) but got a referral for a Canadian dentist (west coast) who was trained there instead. I made sure he had a proven track record of treating TMJD as well as had done a ton of recent post grad studies for TMJD treatment. It's a tricky disorder to treat...you really need to be in supremely capable hands.
Hang in there! Things really can get better with the right help.
