Wondering if there is any association with the symptoms I am having with TMD
I am beside myself with a strange type of sensation like if there is air moving around from one location to another. I had several occurances through the years. I had apparently had tmj and had been grinding for years. I fell and got rear ended several years ago. I find that through the years I had many symptoms of TMJ, and had several MRI showing two disc displacements. One anterior displacement and one medial displacement. I have little discomfort on the side with the anterior displacement, but a lot of problems on the side with the medial displacement. It seems on the side with the medial displacement I am having a cracking, crunching, crinkling noise that moves around. It feels like air going throught the area followed by the noises, from one location to another. It will sometimes start around the temple region and then move to the joint area, then it will go from the joint into the teeth. Other times it seems to start from the joint area and moves to the teeth or between the upper and lower jaw. It is very painful and all consuming. The pressure seems to build up and I have to move my head in different angles to release the pressure. Sort of like when someone is cracking their knuckles to let out the air. If I don`t try to release the pressure it becomes more painful. Then suddenly at times it will subside, and I will get an hour of relief, and then it will start up again. It is very unpredicible but I am suffering most of the day and it is worse with weather changes. I take gabapentin for this as it seems to irritate nerves, but nothing works to get rid of the pain. The pain is ongoing, nothing seems to address it. I know it sounds strange but this is very real and I have been suffering for years without any relief. No medication seems to stop the pain and discomfort. I have been on all kinds of medication but nothing stops it. I am wondering is there anyone out there that has something similar, and is this something to do with the TMJ joint. If anyone has anything similar I would like to hear from you.
