I had a modified condylotomy on the right side in 2009. And look who's back.
Joint pain, ear pain, headaches on both sides now. Can barely open my mouth, have to cut cherry tomatoes in half, if that gives you any idea. Clenching jaw constantly due to pain.
Went to University of Pennsylvania Maxillofacial Surgery instead of the doc in NYC. Had CT scan. The doctor that I saw said: it's not the worst I have seen, but then again, I handle facial trauma from car accidents. I'm not going to sugar coat this. It's bad. Really bad. You have no disc left on either side and are bone on bone. I'm going to refer you to another doctor here that specializes in this particular problem and even teaches about it at the university. I'm thinking he will want to implant new discs but I can't say for sure.
Great, hooray me. UGH!
Wish me luck!
