One TMJ pain solution
I found temporary pain relief for my TMJ by rolling up orthodontic wax and biting down on it gently. I used it on both sides of my mouth and sometimes just on one side, to help balance my bite/jaw. It took a few days, but helped give support to one side of my jaw that had new crowns that were slightly shallow. This, in return, helped ease some of the pain. It's easy to keep in place even while you're sleeping.
I then got a provisional bridge with a proper bite, and my TMJ pain went away and my jaw healed. It took awhile for my jaw to heal. Now I'm just hoping the permanent crowns will be as good as the provisional bridge.
