| Do I have TMJ?
I don't really have any jaw pain or clicking. I just have horrible ear problems. It all started when I heard these really loud drums about a year and a half ago and all of a sudden my ears began ringing and everything went quiet. My ears were like that for about 6 months until I took Zertec for a week and they got a lot better. They were still not normal, though. I've been expiriencing constant popping, clicking, and ringing in my ears. Yawning, swallowing, chewing, and getting water in my ears from the shower make my ears plug up really bad. I'm taking nasal spray currently, but it's not helping very much. I got allergy tested and the results said that I was allergic to nothing. I went to the ENT a few months ago and they said I had no noticeable hearing loss either. This is so weird! At my last ENT appointment, he said to schedule a TMJ appointment and if it turns out that I do not have TMJ, then he is going to perform ear surgery on me where he cuts open a hole in my eardrum. My TMJ appointment is next week, but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this or expirience with TMJ? I don't think I have it, but I heard it's possible to have no jaw pain at all. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
