Just out of curiosity, what other symptoms did you have? I found that I have muscle stiffness and jaw misalignment, the pain used to be from discomfort and tense muscles.

Neck and shoulder tension that comes and goes.Sinus pain sometimes usually with neck pain.Slight jaw misalignment,Dizzyness when neck and shoulders are stiff.I used to get really bad jaw pain but that seems to be gone now same with my back pain. Also a lot of my facial pain is gone snd clogged ears.I get flare ups when I eat a lot of sugar/gluten and caffeine

Also in my case I have a crooked neck one side angles off like a slope while the other goes down like a normal neck.I don't know how I did that damage but I'm sure it stems from my weightlifting years

There is a good sticky at the top of this board that gives a huge list of diagnostic symptoms for TMJD. You might find it helpful.

Re: Tmj but no jaw pain??

Liquidplasma

I do a lot of weight training although I am not one that easily puts on muscle mass I certainly train hard. I tend to do more bodyweight exercises and endurance exercises.

I found that the best way to keep my body balanced is to stretch regularly and to use a foam roller on my legs, hips and back.

These 2 methods have kept my supple and prevents any referred tension that develops which twist my body out of its normal shape which brings on tmj.

Good luck in finding your own way, I would suggest a foam roller to use it as a release mechanism for fascial tension.

Re: Tmj but no jaw pain??

Yes, it is possible. It mainly depends on what the cause is, and how much your jaw is being aggravated throughout the day by things such as clenching, lifestyle habits, diet, etc.
