Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any more insight into cortisone injections into the jaw joints? My surgeon injected both sides on Thursday because he said if I was having problems with migraines and pain this might be a good solution which could help hold off another surgery for a little while longer.
I was wondering if anyone had any positive or negative experiences with them? It all happened kind of fast so I didn't have a long time to do research on them. And from what I have read it just says for some people it's awesome and for other's it's not so awesome. Has anyone had relief from the pain after cortisone injections?
I haven't had cortisone injections into the TMJ itself, although I have had my shoulder and back injected. I've usually found that it can take up to 3 days to get some relief. If you don't get relief from your migraines, you may visit a pain management specialist and see if you have any muscular trigger points - those can be injected too and can work wonders!
