Tourettes and aggression

My son was diagnosed with Tourettes last year, he is 11. He has had many health issues since birth. Anyway, has anyone known or does anyone have a child with Tourettes that always has to annoy their sibling verbally and doesn't seem to know when to stop? How do you deal with this? He just doesn't seem to get it. Albeit the sibling gets annoyed with his tics, but she is learning.

Re: Tourettes and aggression

Unfortunately that is a symptom of the Tourettes. Be thankful if your child doesn't have the foul language issue of the tourettes. Your child doesn't undertand that what he does is irritating to his siblings. The repetition is paart of the disease. He can't stop it. You will need to find someone who is familiar with it to work with your son to control the constant urge to repeat things.

My thoughts and prayers are with you...
