Re: Help... I have a tourette syndrome
I know what you are going through my friend cause I have been there. I was diagnosed with TS when I was 12 and my tics were very bad turing my teenage years also. I also found that medication did little to lessen my tics, but I found something that did help. I went to the gym and started boxing. I found that not only did working out help to lessen my tics, but boxing also gave me the confidence to embrace who I was. I ended up boxing for many years and even went on to become a professional boxer. I'm now 29, and though I still have TS, it doesn't effect or run my life. Now, I'm not saying that boxing is for you, maybe its running, baseball, soccer, or something else. But my advice to you is to find an activity you can do after school. It won't cure you TS, and there will be still be other kids who may look at you or laugh ot whatever, but there is Nothing wrong with you and nothing wrong with having tourettes. Those people dont matter. Don't let it stop you from anything you want to do in life. As for medicine, just because it didn't work fot me doesn't mean it can't help you. Maybe go back to your doctor and tell him your concern. Good luck, and if you need any more advice, I'm happy to help.
