| Re: Anyone know about kidney transplants and bone problems?
RedPanda (like the name),
I can't answer any questions in regards to the kidney transplant - cause I'm not sure why they would mention the bone trouble. I could speculate that they gave you a ton of steroids during this transplant?! If that is so, then the steroids do a number on your bones.
A bone density scan will be able to tell you the damage. Fosamax is a drug taken orally that will help build your bone density. There is several different types of bisphosphonates that are available - Fosamax is just one. I have experience with one that was done via infusions - Aredia. So if you go that route, I can try to offer experience for you.
If you can provide more information (or start a new thread), maybe someone else will be able to lend their advice as well.
Wishing you all the best!
