My 23 year old step daughter had a lung transplant in 2009. It went very well and she has made a speedy recovery.
Her eating and health habits have not changed. She is a very picky eater and only eats processed foods and foods high in sugar, lots of chips and candy (for breakfast). She still lives at home, even before the surgery. How does one approach the situation about taking better care of herself, neither of her parents seem to be pushing her to try new foods and to not eat all of those foods. Or even to exercise! She is 23 and from what I consider, an adult.
I just don't understand how one who has had a second chance at life, treat it like its not a big deal. She is very inactive and has always been but her life was saved and I would like to think she would like to appreciate it more than she does. She needs to get out there and live life!! Her doctors have no idea of her habits!!
She isn't in a support group or anything. Someone please help me out here? I am concerned.
