My husband takes Topamax for electric type discharges into his brain and body. He takes so many different meds but, this is the newest. Gary has found that it not only took over 50% of these horrid shooting lightening bolt type pains away but, it also has helped elevate his mood. He is still in the phase of finding the right dose. Started with 25mgs 2x's pd to 150mgs 2x's pd at 25mgs 2x's ps per week. Sorry we don't know more but, maybe someone else does. He has found no other side effects that he has noticed. Hope this helps. Gary thinks it's an anti depressant. It is supose to work on Migrains and help block pain and an anticonvulsant. That is waht he thinks the doctor told him but, he was having so much pain at the time he's not sure.
