multiple nerve involvement
My father 62 yrs old advocate by profession going thru really tough times now a days. 5mths back he developed severe headache for which he was diagnosed & treated as CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS but no improvement occurs then he rcvd treatment for MIGRANE while he was rcving treatment he become anorexic loose wt & had sleepless nites. mean while he was also treated for sinusitis & rcvd multiple A/B b/c of post nasal dribbling & cough (really productive). no marked improvement occurs & wd passing days he lost the pitch of his voice n its become really difficult to understand he was diagnosed as having left vocal cord palsy , no cause was detected on MRI n even endoscopy turned to be normal anyhow the cough resolved & anorexia also improved after endoscopy buttt .... the headache our major concern still remains
few more MRI & SCANS done few more opinions taken mean while he developed left sided facial palsy for which rcvd steroids (7 days ) n combination of new analgesics which not only improved his facial palsy but also improve the wt & voice quality & headache for few days.
Then diagnosed as having TRIGEMINAL NEUROMA on MRI CONTRAST but dr not agreed wd the reports few considered it a fungal infection .now a days he is rcving anti fungal n analgesics no marked improvement occurring & has advised CSF evaluation . Drs are keeping 4 differential
1 . basal meningitis
2 . tuberculous infection
3 . fungal infection
4 . infiltrative process (lymphoma)
SCAN & MRI REPORTS CAN BE SEND IF REQUIRED . PLZ YOUR CONTRIBUTION IN REGARD OF DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT OPTIONS WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED .
