I've noticed that some foods really seem to trigger a TN flare, does anyone else experience this? Or know if this is even possible?
I seem to be really bothered by vinegar products. Pickles, salt n vinegar chips, hot sauce etc. I've eaten and loved these foods my whole life and notice either an immediate reaction or delayed reaction lately. I believe I have MS and was in the middle of an exacerbation when I reached for salt n vinegar chips the second I put the chip on my tongue I suffered from immediate, intense TN pain. This has since been common and all these types of food bother me causing either mild or severe reaction.
Am I crazy or is there a connection?
I also notice these foods smell very offensive, feels like my nose hairs are curling and I need to sneeze, and taste sort of "off".
I too had problems with certain foods . vinegar, ketup, pickles, mustard, certain sweets and tooth paste. i am not sure thats all. but my neurologist had never heard that before. so that was very confusing for me . mine affected a a specific toothe on lower back left jaw, had 3 root canals and oral surgery. all a waste of time, money and pain. regarding the tooth paste.. couldnt brus my teeth for two weeks. excruciating pain and burning

Thanks for your reply! Toothpaste does bother me as well, my tongue will burn and the texture of my tongue seems different, temporary. It's been bothering me alot more lately
