| atypical trigeminal neuralgia and multiple chemical sensitivity
I have been diagnosed with multiple chemical sensitivity; however, the environmental illness specialists I have seen have not addressed the burning I experience in my face, eyes, and nose when I am exposed to any type of fragrance. I have been researching ATN and oddly find that the symptoms are very similar to multiple chemical sensitivity and was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with both of these conditions. I have read that ATN can be caused as a result of a trauma, but what type of trauma. Can chemical burns on the face result in ATN? I had a severe allergic reaction to the combination of air fresheners and scented candles in the workplace which brought on extreme burning, my eyes swelling and causing my face and eyes to turn bright red. The pigmentation in my face has been damaged and was wondering if anyone else with ATN has also experienced pigmentation damage. My cheeks show blotches of brown and white which now turn a little yellow after an exposure. Even when I can not smell anything in an area, my body (specifically my face) tells me that there is something present because my face, eyes and nose will start a mild stinging and progress into a burning when I have been exposed to something. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
