Re: Anyone have TN and Occipital Neuralgia?

I would think that anywhere you have nerves you can have neuropathy.

I have TN in my right eye that is disabling. I also have neuropathy in my spine and legs.

No fun at all.

Thanks for your response. That was what I was thinking, too, but I'm not happy about it.

Re: Anyone have TN and Occipital Neuralgia?

I am not sure what your symptoms are - but I have atypical TN, and before I started medications for it, I had SEVERE pain around and behind my left eye. I also had pain that would shoot up into the middle of my scalp.

Once I went on elavil the pain in my eye melted away within a few weeks. My doctor was also nice enough to give me fioricet - which would immediately take away the eye pain for ~ 4 hours. I couldn't live without my topical prescription - which I get from a compounding pharmacist. It has lidocaine, elavil, and baclofen in it. I put the gel on my face where ever I have TN pain. It is amazing....I HIGHLY recommend finding a compounding pharmacist. Topical gels are great b/c you can use the meds without getting the side effects. I was in soooo much pain before I started elavil and the topical, and now I hardly notice my TN....there are good treatments out there...you just have to find the right one
