I was recently told that I have TN. I had a partial crown put on when the pain started - it didn't work. Then they wanted to do a root canal - I knew better at that point and refused. By that time I was having attacks everyday for three months. It went away and came back 9 months later. I haven't had an attack for quite some time but i am feeling achy in the area and know it is just a matter of time before the pain returns.
I am angry at myself for wasting 2 years at dental offices when I should've went to my family doctor.
Very common as dental issues are usually what is thought of with this condition. I hope you are finding help for it. My sister had this for a number of years and had the decompression surgery several years back with great success.
I have and still do get pain in one tooth right before the pain starts. I know I was angry when I went to my long time dentist just to be told that nothing was wrong. Finally after seeing my GP about the pain, I was told I had facial nerve pain ,on top of the TMJ and migraines.
