| Re: Getting Frustrated!
campbell,
It is not normal to miss periods. I got off the pill 1 1/2 years ago and have been TTC since and have not had one period. Well the way my insurance works they won't help me TTC until after a year with no success. So after a year the Dr finally saw me for the no periods thing. He said he thought it could be 2 things, thyroid or pituitary. Well my thyroid is normal so they sent me to get an MRI of the pituitary (located on the bottom of the brain and controls most of the hormones in your body) well they found 2 tumors and now we have a reason. Now on to the cure, soon I hope. I am still in the waiting game for seeing dr after dr to get a treatment. Those who do not have periods are at much higher risk of endometrial cancer. PLEASE ask for some tests. The most common cause of no periods is PCOS which would need to be looked for by your GYN. I suggest a prolactin, FSH, LH, and thyroid blood workup to figure out what is going on. If you have any questions or need any advise feel free to ask.
