I'm worried that I have low estrogen levels.
I have been charting my cervical mucus. It seems to me from what I've read in TCOYF that I don't have much of it. From the pictures in the book, and from what she says about it falling into the toilet, I think I have very little and now I'm really starting to get worried. I should be my most fertile right now, and although it is wet, it is not stretchy at all and I certainly can't gather enough of it to do the "water" test that is in the book. Is this normal? I can remember when I was younger having a lot of CM, but ever since I came off the pill, I have very little. I thought maybe it was because I came off of the pill, but I was only on it for a very short time and have been off since September. I started taking Robitussin, but still, I have very little CM. What do you guys think? Should I go to the doctor and ask them to test my levels?
Sorry but that is a really tuff call. I'm sorry to say but I think you may be jumping the gun a bit. There is a lot of research out there to suggest that women coming off the pill even for a short time need to not expect normal hormone levels until 6 months (cycles) out. But then again there are those people who miss their pill for a day or two and Bamb, no AF and all BFP! And then nature didn't intend for all of us to be alike, I don't produce enough CM to test either but I have been pregnant- my problems start after the three month mark (or I would be on the PG health board). It would be your call, what I suggest is for you to follow your heart and determine if you think you need to know for peace of mind than do it and let no one tell you or make you think you are over-reacting. I may not of MC'ed the first time had I listen to my insticts better- it paid of in the last MC because we now know part of the problem and the Doc has a game plan for the rest of the PG.
If you want to increase cm then it is recommended that you drink green tea daily to help this, it also comes in tablet form from your health food shop. i have also heard robitussin helps and have read some sucess stories on here from some of the ttcers who took it.
