How long must I wait?

My husband and I started trying 6 months ago. I have never had a problem before. Always a one or two shot deal. Although I have only one child, I have been pregnant 5 times, the other resulting in miscarriage. I got tired of the disappointment and went on Depo for 3 years. I wanted to get pg before I was 30 but as my birthday is in May and I am 29, I dont see that happening. I know when I ovulate and we have been doing everything by the book. I even have a program I got from some site that charts my ovulation for me, it's pretty darn close. We apparently can't seem to get it right. Could it be remnants of the Depo Provera? If it could be, does anyone know the statistics for that? Like how long it generally takes?

Re: How long must I wait?

Hi, ex depo user, was on it for 5 years and came off it in March 04, still no af (well until sat!) so went to specialist and they put me on tablets to kick start me, which i did but they still have many tests to do before anything happens - i think.

I was told it can take up to 2 years for af to return and some people still dont get it regular then!!!

When did you have your last injection?

Dont get dishartened by this because everyone is different.

Have you spoken to your doctor ref ttc again after 5 mc?

Re: How long must I wait?

My last injection was in January 04. My periods started regularly by March 04. Although I had none during my Depo use. I have not spoken to my doctor, I am not sure how she will react. I told her 3 years ago I wanted to lose weight and told me she couldnt give me will power so I had to make some choices. Before I left the office she handed me a pamphlet for slimfast and said "good luck". I think she thought I wanted magic pills. I dont like switching doctors. Therefore I live with it.
So based on what I have read, I just assumed I needed to try for a year before I talk to her anyway.
2 years is a long time when I am pushing 30! Well I am glad to know that there is a generalized time frame and I havent reached it yet lol!

Re: How long must I wait?

P.S.
I had two prior to my daughter, with whom I had a very normal and excellent pregnancy and two post. My doctor knows about them, but she doesnt know I am trying again, so I don't know what she has to say about them.

Re: How long must I wait?

Im pushing 30 too, i feel like my clock is ticking away and i dont even have 1 child yet!

You are so lucky that your af returned to fairly normal so quickly, i joined a slimming club to help loose the weight as i couldnt be doing with slimfast, yuck, i have lost 2 1/2 stone getting me down to 9stone and am now at my fittest to start trying for a baby.

I wander if you go to the doctor and discuss things with her she may run some tests before you concieve, my doctor has ran loads, rubella, toxoplasmosis (i work with animals) and they are also checking my hormone levels now so i would advise getting an appointment and see what they say

Good luck and keep me posted
