Have any of you ladies ever used the lipstick tube fern test? Is it pretty accurate? Do you like using it? I just went off the pill about 5 days ago, and I'm too impatient to wait the couple of weeks to see if AF arrives or not to see if I've started to ovulate or not. Thanks for any help with this!
Yes, I use one. It seems to be accurate because I used it in conjuction
with a urine ovulation test and they both showed up positive on the same day. You have to put some saliva on the slide and let it dry for about 20-25 minutes before screwing the lens back on. Otherwise you see a lot of bubbles. Remember to focus in and out until you see anything. When you are ovulating you can really see the 'ferns' all over the slide. Be patient. Do it for a couple of days before you think you are ovulating and you will be able to see the progression of the formation of the 'fern-like' patterns. Good luck!

I use mine and so far i have had no full ferning but then i have not fully ovulated yet (due to being ex depo user i am annovulating) and my first month of ovulation was induced so according to my doctor it doesnt count.
Personally i like them because you dont have to keep paying out, so long as you get the one where you can change the batteries it will last you for life and its shaped like a lipstick so its discreat!
hi, am i right in thiinking that if i did get full ferning it doesnt mean i will ovulate just that i may ovulate? had full ferning cd 9 10 & 11 then on cd14 partial ferning, had a dip in temp cd11( cd 9 36.2,cd10 36.3 cd11 35.6 cd 12 36.2 cd13 36.1 cd14 36.2) according to a internet chart ive been using i ov on cd 13 i thought dip indicated ov which i got on cd11, im on clomid so early ov is possible. not really sure what to think ? any ideas?

As far as im aware, if you get full ferning you will ovulate.
I havent had any ferning yet and i havent ovulated either so mine is working correctly!
You can ovulate any day from day 10 onwards, what your saying sounds good though, the internet chart gives you estimated ovulation and isnt all ways spot on, mine said i had ovulated and then went and changes its mind 4 days post ovulation saying i hadnt so you may find it changes, if not i would say day 12 as that is then inbetween both calculations.
