I am really confused with the temping thing. I am reading TGOYF, but I guess I am just not getting it Okay, a couple of days ago my temps were 96.22 and 96.21, then today it spikes to 97.77. If I am doing this righ ti should have O Tues. or Wed., so does that mean my temp goes up and stays up after I O???? I am really lost here..... Can someone please shed light on me
It sounds like you are doing it right. And yes your temps rise when you O and will stay elevated. They will usually start to dip just before your AF starts. If you notice that your temps remain elevated and do so for 18 days straight, that can be a good indication that you are pregnant. Now, for a side note, most charting experts wait until 3 days in a row of elevated temps to pinpoint ovulation (to rule out non-hormonal causes of your temperature rise).
To make sure you are doing it right - be sure to take your temps first thing in the morning when you wake up (before you do anything), also try to take them at the same time everyday (set the alarm if you have to). Also you should have at least 3 hours of good sleep before taking your temps.
I do take my temps in the early morning, same time every time. I think I am making this more difficult than it really is... I have been having seizures and I think my DH and I may have an "UH OH" and I wanted to pay close attetion to my temps before running out and buying a test. We were trying to wait 4-6 months to get my health under control before ttc again. Guess time will tell. Thanks for the info, it was helpful.
