Ttc #2 - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

I am just wondering if anyone else can relate to the frustration on ttc #2 (or more) after having no problems with #1. Now as I say I had no problems I should expand that to say no problems concieving or carrying until 8 months. Then I had mild pre-eclampsia and then 37 hours of induced labour (and yes Heather, here in Canada they'll let you go that long but it is rare...I was the only one in labour at that time and think I must have just kept meeting the right dilation point to avoid a c-section) followed by a bit of a scare with ds upon delivery as he didn't breath and had metabolic acidosis due to artificial breathing methods used to help him.
I know worry that this long labour and maybe the pre-eclampsia have hurt my chances of ttc again as conceiving ds was as easy as thinking about it...first month, no charting, bd'ing only once during fertile time etc.
Is anyone else having (had) this problem with after an easy time conceiving previous? Is it normal?

I totally understand! We're trying for #2 now...it's so hard! #1 was so easy!! It's frustrating. I was in labour for 36 hours with #1...then a C-section (I'm in Canada too). Now, I can't help but be a little anxious that the hard labour with my son is hurting my chanced of getting pg with #2. I'm 2 days late now, but I just got a bfn this morning.

I had no problem conceiving #1, but it took me 2 years to get pregnant with #2. I went on Depo after my first child. I stayed on it for 2 years and got off to have another child. My period hadn't returned after a year and a half, so I saw a specialist and was put on Clomid and got pregnant after 4 months of Clomid.

My heart goes out to all of the women who are TTC. I know what I went through during those 2 years and it was horrible. But, don't give up. Medical technology enables many things to happen. Best wishes to all.

I guess it's not just me who gets frustrated with this... and I can't really complain as I have only been trying for 3 months now. I feel stupid and naive for thinking it would be as easy this time as it was the last. I had it all planned out to have a Jan. baby...now I'll be lucky to see an April baby...especially now that I am on cd 10 and still having signs of af. Why does your body decide to do weird things right when you need it all to be nromal???

Hi Jordyn,

I had no problem conceiving either of my kids, I wasn't even trying, and now here I am after four years of trying to get pregnant, but I didn't used to have endo, and I was young before, two things that make it harder to concieve.

I'm still waiting for af.....I m/c a month ago ~ exactly. Hmmmm. I guess it takes a while for your cycle to return to normal, huh? I keep thinking ( hoping ) I might be pregnant, but probably not. So you're still bleeding on cd 10? Wow. I have no idea what to expect now. What are your temps like?
