I've read on hear before but can someone remind me again what robitussin does for cm. Does it really work? When do you start taking it and what ingredient do I need to look for again?
You need the expectorant version which makes the mucus in your lungs as well as your cm thinner (ie so you can cough it away) so it is easier for the little guys to swim through! the ingredient is guaiphenesin and i read somewhere you start taking it a few days b4 ov.

Should be ok to take both, though i found robbitussin didnt work for me.
EPO should be taken from AF to Ovulation. Either stop using after ovulation or replcae the EPO with flax seed oil. flax is safe after ovulation.
To have the maximum benefit you can take both flax and epo before Ovulation, and then flax only afterwards.
Good thing about them both is they are cheap and dont taste yukky!

this was the first cycle I used the robitussin and it really made my cm thin out. I didn't think it would really work but I drank 4-6 cups of green tea and did the robitussing thing for about 7-8 days before I believe I O'd and these two combined did just as they promised!!
I just recently learned about taking Robitussin as well. {removed} said that there was actually a study done about this, and that the doctor tested several women who were trying to conceive and were having difficulty more than 50% of those women became pregnant. My cousin tried it while trying to conceive her second child, and she conceived.
I just tried it this month prior to my ovulation starting and during. Hopefully it will work. WIsh me luck!!! And best wishes for you all as well.

I started the robitussin today as well as evening primrose. How much robitussin do you take...do you take it every 6 hours like they suggest? How soon do you usually see results? Just wondering so I'll know if it's working or not.
Also for anyone taking evening primrose oil...how much do you take? I think I read 1000mg but the kind I have says to take 2-3 a day and it is 1000mg.

toni weschler in her book "taking charge of your fertility" says take 2 teaspoons of robitussin 3 times a day starting several days before your anticipated ovulation through to the first day of your temp shift. But make sure you have the expectorant version as the other kind actually dries up cm.
So I've answered my own question but thought I'd post for others info...you need to have only the guaifenesin AND it turns out that I had it in the house the whole time...not robitussin but benedryl with same ingredient...I am sure that it will work as well. Anyone know about that?

Benadryl - sorry is that the tablet? Id sooner take that than swallow 10ml Robitussin 3 times a day, i cant stand the taste of it, i have been drinking 1 cup of green tea a day also as i have heard this works but your not meant to drink lots of it as it can cause spina bifida (apparently) in an unborn child.
When I said Benedryl I meant cough syrup...up here they make both allergy meds and cold meds as well as cough syrup. It was WAY worse then the robitussin though...I had to switch as I ran out and believe it or not the robitussin was actually the better tasting!!! I ran out again yesterday but I think my temp shifted this morning...hard to tell since I was really cold when I took it and we just got back from a camping trip so sleeping was abit off too.
Should I start another bottle just to be sure. Will stopping it for 24 hours effect me?

Ive now been on 2000mg of evening primrose oil this cycle. 4 x 500mg capsules.
My cm is amazing absolutley 200% more! Cant beleive the difference its made.

Do you use caplets? I am taking 2x 1000mg and there is definately more cm but not that much more. There was when I was still on Robitussin. I don't think I've O yet so I am going get more of it and take it with the epo and see what happens.
