Question How long does LH surge last

How long should my LH surge last? I'm on day three of a positive opk test, does this mean I haven't o'd yet? Or do you still have a surge going after you ovulate???

No you dont get a posative ovulation test after ovulation.
after a posative test, ovulation takes place 12-36 hours later.
If you have had 3 days then its more than likely day 1 caught the surge going up as it first happened, day 2 surge, day 3 still caught the surge as it was going down again.

Re: How long LH surge last

I am now on day 4 of a positive opk and totally confused. I had the ewcm, my cervix felt further back and softer...but my temps are still low and I still have the positive opk.

Re: How long LH surge last

Are you sure they are posative? eg test line must be as dark as, or even darker than the control line. 2 lines is irrelevant, its how dark the line is that counts.

Could you actually be pregnant now?

Opk will show posative results when at the of the 2ww if pregnant. That was one of the things i did, i watched my hpt and opk get darker at the same time once i confirmed i was pregnant

If its not any of those do you have poly cystic ovary syndrome? in some people it can cause them to have posative results frequently.

Failing that id go see a doctor and get a blood test to see whats going on.

Re: How long LH surge last

It's definately a darker line. I started testing on day 8, so day 8-12 were all really faint lines, day 13 was my first pos, and it was much darker than the test line, and just because I'm a test addict, I test that afternoon also and it was pos. Day 14 the same AM & PM, Day 15 just AM (I didn't test that afternoon) and again this morning. I'll check again when I get home today. Hopefully it will have faded and my temps will go up. My opk does not advise when to test AM vs. afternoon. I use the answer strips that come 20 to a pack.
I've never been diagnosed with poly cystic ovary syndrome.
Thank you for your response.

Some women get a few "false starts" before the real thing actually comes. You can have more than one LH surge, in other words. As long as you are getting a "+", then you should keep BDing.
