what should normal CM be like? - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hi everyone

hope none of you find this too gross, which im sure you wont (lol) but i just wondered if any of you could describe what CM should be like around ovulation? Ive been TTC for a few months and 21 day progesterone tests last year showed that i wasnt ovulating (my AF was on long cycles at the time). But now my cycles have become more regular again (28 days) and im noticing CM on day 14 exactly. Ive always noticed it and its slippery, clear stringy mucus but almost has a jelly like texture (squidgy). when i described this once before someone put a post on saying that it shouldnt be jelly like, but thinner, as that would make it hard for the sperm to get where it has to go! Could anyone else describe what it should be like and if mine sounds normal and like a sign of ovulation? i know we're all different, but would be interesting to hear.And Its not the kind of thing you can whip out and show to your friends is it!!

Mine is just like yours. Kind of like the consistency of Grape Jelly except clear. Does that make sense?

I've seen sites describing it as egg white.. raw egg white. so basically that's how i'd describe mine.

It really is like that.

I'm not sure if I would describe mine as stringy -- except that it does sort of stretch between my fingers -- so I guess that could be described as stringy! But it is very wet. Yours sounds normal to me.

Have you considered tracking your basal body temperature or using ovulation predictor kits? I do both and it has helped me so much.
