False Positives? - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

has anyone here had experience with false positives or evaporation lines with the ept plus/minus test? i got a really thin light blue vertical line going thru the horizontal one making it positive but its just so thin....y is this? i can understand y it would b light cuz i tested early but y so thin? i called the ept number and they asked if it appeared b4 the 10 minutes and i said yes and he said then its pos but sumthin in my head is not convinced....r evap lines really common? i just dont kno what to think.

Evaporation lines are common after quite a bit of time has passed. If you are already past the expected time for your period, wait 2 days and test again. If it is still early for your period, I would wait until then and test that day.

Hi Megan!

A line is a line, so CONGRATS on your BFP!! As for the line being so thin & faint-if you tested early it's probably b/c you don't have enough of the hormone built up just yet. Wait a few days, & i'm sure you'll see that line darken! How early are you? (just out of curiousity?)

if you are really unsure... try a different brand. as far as thin lines goes with our last pregnancy i had to have my husband confirm because his eye sight is better than mine that a line was there!

almost unable to see it at all but then the next days was better so try again and i am sure that you will feel more confident

we tried for 3 years for the last twerp and when we got that test result i couldnt believe it was real for the longest time! i bet if you read it with in the 10 mins you are not crazy... just pregnant!

well i went to a pregnancy center with my bf aznd took a free urine test. it was negative. so we thought i wasnt preggo. well my pd was due on monday and yesterday my boobs started hurting REALLY badly. i took a shower today and the water hurt them. and i noticed blue veins also. and im moody as heck lol ask my bf. so im really confused. whish test do i believe?! ill test again in a week or so. any thoughts or opinions? ill keep ya updated.
