Trying to Calcuate Fertile Days! Please help me! - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

I am really hoping someone here can help me to calculate when my next fertile days might be. I'm confused and frustrated because my period has come on different days every month since getting off my BC. Here's a rundown:

Start of last period before going off BCP: February 22, 2006

Stopped the BCP: March 5, 2006

Start of period: April 5, 2006

Start of period: May 7, 2006

Start of period: June 4, 2006

Is it normal for my days to be scattered like this or do most women start their periods on the same day every month?

What days should my husband and I be sure to have intercourse this month in the hopes that I might be fertile?

hi,
its normal for periods to be a bit irregular after coming off BC, and even some people with regular periods dont always get it on the same day each month, it can easily be a day or two or more out.
You just need to be charting your ovulation, id start BD from the 12th day of your cycle right through to about the 16th or 17th, that way you're making sure the sperm is there right through the middle section of your cycle. Check for when you're ovulating by keeping an eye on mucus, charting your temperature or using ovulation kits. ive been given some great advice by the ladies on here.

Fallen Angel is right -- days 12 through 16 or 17 should get you into the fertile zone. A lot of people will recommend that you have sex every other day starting at the end of your cycle up until the start of the next. It's up to you.

Ovulation predictor kits are fabulous and charting temperatures is truly helpful. By the way -- The number of days in your cycle is much more important than starting your period on the same day each month.

I had no idea that the number of days in a cycle is more important than starting your period on the same day every month. Although I have seen some women mention that they had 35+ days in each cycle and that they discovered they weren't ovulating.

I definitely recommend temperature charting. It's helping me quite a bit and there are sites that help you determine when you are most fertile each month.
BD'ing every other day is a very smart choice, especially if you don't do temp. charting or ovulation tests.
