is there anything you can do to increase your chances of having twins? i mean besides fertility drugs. i really want twins. i'm not sure what my chances of twins are they do run in my family somewhat (my mom's mom is a twin) and in my fiance's side of the family. (his sister has had two sets). i am really hoping that i have at least one child and would be REALLY happy to have twins. i have also heard that the more times you have been preg. the higher your chances. this will be my fourth preg. if i do FINALLY get preg.. i am hoping my chances are high for twins. any advice or opinions would be appreciated greatly. thank you!

Certain cultures that eat a lot of yams have a higher incidence of twins. Also being an older mom. Some studies show that if you are nursing when you get pregnant you have a higher chance of twins.

Hi,
I was going to say the exact same thing. EAting more yams may help as well as being an older mom. The more children you have can increase the chance of twins as well as the role heredity plays.

I would like twins too but im not holding my breath.

Fraternal twins happen when you body releases 2 eggs instead of just one. Identical twins are when the egg splits in two. There is nothing you can do to make this happen other than fertility drugs.
Age is a big factor though (according to alot of the books I have read)- the older you are the more chance you have of having twins. The peak age for twins is 35-38 I think. Family history can play a role too - on your side only though - like mother, grandmother, sister, etc. Your husband's twin history has nothing at all to do with it as it is within your body.

I bought some baby yams...i just boil and dip them in sugar and it's yummy!!!
I'm hoping to have twins too but not getting my hopes too high. I'll be happy as long as i got BFP.
