From what I understand about this, if you're Rh-, and your DH is Rh+, you have 60-70% chance of having a child whose blood will be Rh+.
Just think of it this way. Your blood doesn't have Rh (that's why you are Rh-). Most people have it. If your baby has it, at one point in pregnancy, your baby's blood will start mixing w/ yours, and when you're body, will see the blood cells w/ this Rh attached to it (Rh+), it will not recognize it (since it looks different from YOUR blood cells. This will then lead to your body to develop antibodies that in 2nd pregnancy will distroy your babies blood cell (if that baby also has the Rh), and leading to anemia, etc.
This is not a concern as much w/ 1st pregnancy (b/c you don't have the antibodies yet, they develop AFTER) but definitly w/ second if your first child was Rh+ (b/c that means that your body developed anitbodies against this factor, and could destroy it w/ second pregnancy IF your second child is Rh+ (but not a consern if Rh-)
If your child will be Rh+, you will get injection at 28wks preggo and 3 days before labour. The shot will prevent your body from destroying your babies blood. You should also have a blood test that will show the level of the antibody before you get preggo. Is your partner Rh+??
I have never read anything about this affecting ability to get preggo, though. Talk to you doctor, they can do appropriate tests, to determine what you should do, when you get pregnant.
