2nd time around.... - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hi Everyone,
I haven't been here in some time...my daughter is now 2 1/2 and me and DH are planning baby number 2. The first time round i got alot of support from this healthboard so i'm back again. This time it's more confusing...i had a check up the other day and my doc said that i had lot's of eggs...but maybe they were not maturing. Can some one explain this to me...does it mean i'm ovulating but i can't conceive cause the eggs are not mature? He's given me some meds..but is this normal? Has anyone else gone through this? I didn't have this problem the 1st time round.

Did he do a vaginal US? Women that "look like" they have alot of eggs are usually small cysts from Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), it could mean that you do not ovulate regular and they can give you a pill called clomid to give you alittle boost! What was the medicine that the MD gave you? I might be able to help alittle more if I knew more of your history but I hope this will get you started

Hi,
He did do a Viginal US and showed me all the eggs...i do have a probelm with irregular periods..they some times come 5-10 days later...but they do come every month. He did give me clomid and some other drug called Progynova 2mg. Is this a serious matter....will i have problem conceiving???? I'm really stressed now...please let me know.

Yes, you could be producing eggs that are not big enough -- or if you are ovulating late, they may not be high quality. The Clomid is to help you produce big, mature eggs. The Progynova is an oestrogen that will help to regulate your irregular periods. You can do a search for Progynova on the internet and find a lot of information.

You asked if you will have a problem conceiving. Apparently you mentioned to your doctor that it has taken a while otherwise he/she would not have done a vaginal ultrasound or prescribed Clomid.
