Had my beta drawn - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Okay, so I had my beta drawn this morning. I asked the nurse to leave a message on my patient voicemail instead of calling me like usual. That way I can find out the result when I get up enough courage. I soooo want to know, but am basically paralyzed with fear over having another loss. I don't know if I'll check today or wait until this weekend and see if AF is actually late. I mean, after all, it might be negative and all this worrying is for nothing. This whole situation STINKS! I remember when testing used to be exciting and fun, not terrifying. Sigh. Oh, to go back to those days

.... Sorry, just needed to vent a little. I don't mean to be a post hog.

I would check asap, but that's me, I would never be able to hold out! Can you fill me in about a beta count? What exactly is it? A hormone level? I'm sorry to sound stupid, I just always wanted to know, but never asked. Good luck, let us know what happens.............no matter what, you know that we're always here for you!

Dizzy a beta is your HcG level. Usually, anything above 5 is considered positive for pregnancy.
Believe did you ever call to get your results!!?? I am dying to know!

Hi girls.

I woke up to spotting this morning, so of course I assumed the worst and panicked. I had to call to find out, NEGATIVE. In a sense I was relieved it was not another loss, but I am surprised how gutted I feel about this negative. I know it was only a 25% chance each cycle, but the NP just kept telling me what a great chance I had with 4 huge follies. Sigh. Another month on Clomid. THis is stupid, because I've always taken 4 cycles to get pg in the past, so why should I expect it to be any different now? But I just wanted soooo bad to be "safely (12 wks) pg" by Christmas. Sorry to wallow, I know some of you other guys have it much worse. I'm sorry. Now I wonder if I should have gone through with the IUI. Maybe I wasted those precious 4 follicles...

Oh believe I am so sorry. Those BFN's can really just be a slap in the face can't they?

Treat yourself to something nice this weekend! That's what I always do when I get a BFN!
