Ovulating the day after hsg - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

OK so I know I have a ton of questions but I haven't been able to find the answer to this online anywhere else so I have to ask. I had an hsg done yesterday and was told everything was fine. Now today I have a headache, EWCM(alot), slight cramping, sore nipples, and my temp is up just a little from yesterday. Is it possible I'm ovulating today? Because I had an hsg done yesterday, would that harm the egg at all today if I am ovulating? I am going to take a ovulation test in a couple hours....

I have never had an hsg done but I am suppossed to get one. I was reading a little bit on my pamphlet about it, and it said that some of the things you are describing are side effects from the procedure: discharge and cramping which can last 1-2 days following. You could also be ovulating. I would just take an OPK to find out. I don't think it would harm the egg because chances are the egg had not been released yet when the dye was injected.

It depends where you are in your cycle -- my cycles have been very predictable, even when I had the HSG. I did have more CM the day or two afterwards and it was not related to ovulation.

Some doctors ask their patients to prevent pregnancy during the cycle that they have the HSG because it is not known if the dye used can harm a baby. My doctor said it was up to us, and we tried as usual.

I am due to have a hsg this month because i don`t think i have ovulated sinve losing my Dad four years ago. I have read and looked into this and your pains seem like a after effect from the HSG but good luck Nikki x
