ovulation pains..what do they feel like? - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

I am suppose to be ovulating this week and for the last few days I have had a shooting pain that feels like it is running from my belly button straight down to my pelvis. It only last a few seconds but I have never felt this before. Since so many people say they can feel when they are ovulating I would love hear your experiences.

I feel O pains every month. They are typically either on your right or left side (depending on which ovary is releasing the egg), like right inside your hip bone. To me they feel like a pinching pain that isn't super painful but definately noticeable. They also feel pretty deep...unlike gas pains. In past months my pain lasts for about an hour during one day, but this month I felt it for 4-5 days more constantly. I don't know what that was all about!

I had never experienced these until I had a fallopian tube removed earlier this year and now every other month when I O, I really feel it in that side. I would agree with megss that it is a really deep pain, but like a shooting pain that comes and goes over the course of about 2 days for me, really low on the inside of my hip bone. For me it is great because it makes it very clear whether it is a good chance of conceiving or not that month. I tell my DH it feels like a a quick stab with a knife but internally. I am not sure if everyone is different but I wouldn't have thought you would have the feeling so centrally. kel xx

I always feel it, and it's usually a sharp(but not hurtful) pain in one of the ovaries. It usually comes and goes a for a few hours, and then it stops. I' not sure if you would feel it in the middle, but everybody's different! I would maybe write it down, and compare a few months in a row.

Now I am not sure if what I was feeling was ovulation pains, because there was no dobut that it was centered rigt below my belly button. I am pretty sure I O'd because of the change in CM. However this has been a strange month overall because the CM had tinges of brown which is not normal at all for me.
