Acidic Mucus?

Just back from the gynaecologist. Had sex with my wife a day before the post sex tests. Actually it was a difference of 28 hours between the actual sex and the test. The doctor did not find any motile sperms in my wife's vagina. The egg is healthy and good enough.

I have healthy sperms. There are two possibilities here. Either my wife's mucous is acidic which is killing the sperms or the sperms are dieing with in that 28 hour period.

The question is why did the sperm die. Can there be a possibility that the my wife's mucous is just fine and there is something wrong with my sperms. Do sperms have variable lives. Like the sperm is considered to have a life of about 48 hours, so they should have been there. Does normal semen analysis actually tells the life of the sperms.

What are the signs of acidic mucous. Any indications that show that mucous can be acidic. One indication that I get is that my wife is dry and we have to use water for doing sex. Is that a sign of acidic mucous.

Re: Acidic Mucus?

As far as how long sperm lives and do they have variable lives is a good question for your doctor and when you find the answer, please let us know.

I have heard that using water is not good for sperm, neither is most lubricants and saliva. The best thing to use is a sperm friendly lubricant called pre-seed. It's supposed to regulate the mucus so that it's PH balanced and allows the sperm to swim freely. I called the company and they seemed very helpful. Although I have never used it, I have asked about it on this website and many people used it and it worked. I have also read customer reviews online and many people love it. It's worth a try if nothing else seems to be working. I plan on using it this month. Good Luck!

Re: Acidic Mucus?

Preseed has it's own website. You can also type it into google and many websites sell it. You can read all the reviews too! I called the company and they were very informative.
