Need someone else's opnion

Ok, well the last 3 months my cycles have been 23 to 24 days. So I have been oing around cd 10 to 11. I have been trying not to obsess, so I haven't been temping or anything. Well this month I decided to use the opk's again. I am currently on cd 12. I used my opk's on cd 10 and 11. You can hardly even see the second line on either day. Do you think I have already oed and just didn't test soon enought to catch the lh surge, or do you think I should keep testing? Getting pg just shouldn't be so hard!!! Even bd these days is no fun. I feel like we are doing it because we have to not because we want to. I just don't understand why we can't get pg. We are on cycle #7 and still no luck. I know that there are a lot of ladies that have been ttc way longer than that. How do you all cope? Sorry to be so long, I just think I needed to vent!!

BABY DUST!!!

Re: Need someone else's opnion

What time of day did you use the OPKS. They are sometimes hard to figure out. You could of Def. missed the LH surge on the OPK. Sometimes it happens that fast!!!! I would keep BD'ing and see if the POK gets lighter!!!!!!!!!

Re: Need someone else's opnion

Hello, Sophie.

A light line should still be a positive reading. It could also mean that you're about to O or have just finished O'ing. If you make it a point to BD on days 10, 11, and 12, you should be good. Plus you get the added benefit of lots and lots of ... well, you get the idea. Another thing is that stress will inhibit O-tion, along with many bodily functions. The best thing to do is trash the OPK's and go to town in the middle of a cycle.

Re: Need someone else's opnion

hi sophie,
those opk are hard to read. sometime i had to strain my eyes to see the faintest glimps of a second line. and a lot of times i thought i was getting a positive but i was wasnt...the ones i found easiest read were clear blue.

here's my experience with them : before my m/c in 10/06 i always had a 28 day cycle and O on the 14th day. then after my m/c my cycle went to 32 days and i O on the 16th day. i only found that out because of the opks. after i got my first period after the m/c i started the opk on day 9 and didnt get a positive until day 16. i was like "where's my positive ?? this kit is broken !!" but it finally came up positive - very obvious positive -- dark, dark blue second line.

we started bding on day 10 - 19 !! (didnt bd on day 12 and 14 b/d dh had a terrible cold). needless to say it was not always "fun" and we bd that often because we wanted to conceive no matter what !! i told dh i dont care if i need to pop in a "sexy video" we are doing this !! he laughed and we got down to business. so hang in there, b/c weve all been there !!

as far as your O, the kits say to start testing on day 10, but when i read reviews of the opks on different websites, i ran across a testimony saying her opk never showed positive when she started testing on day 10 and that once she started testing on day 9 -- it showed positive for O that day. so she had been missing her O because she was testing too late. perhaps it might be the same with you - you mightve O early; and therefore tested too late ?? but just in case, i would keep testing with the opk just in case you are O later in your cycle than you thought .

have you had any O signs ?? cm ? pinching feeling in your girl areas ?? anything like that ?

hang in there sophie !
i'm pulling for you,
m

Re: Need someone else's opnion

SOPHIE !!
i have to disagree with hagios !!

you know from reading the instructions that females always have a little bit of that hormone in our systems and that is why the second line comes up faint...the kits try to determine the SURGE, which results in the "same as or darker than" color of the test line.

you will get your positive reading, so hang in there and test away.
