ok, so ive been off the patch since sep and my longest cycle so far has been 60 days. So today i went to see the doctor to try explain to her that i'm ttc and that its hard due to my long cycles, was there anything that could help i.e drugs!! so she said it could be pcos or i may just naturally have long cycles. she said just keep having lots of sex and if i haven't fallen by sep this year to make an appointment to test for pcos. What's frustrating and confuseing me is that apart from the fact i'm ttc and its twice as hard shouldn't i be tested for this pcos thing in the mean time to rule it out as the root cause.

You have to to remember most drs want you ttc for a year before they start doing all the tests.
While you are waiting start charting your cycles that way when you go in your will have visible for her to look at. Also if you havent read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It can help you understand charting and your cycles better.
You never know you might get lucky and not need all the testing.

Have you tried using herbal remedies such as vitex, quai dong, false unicorn root? also drinking 3 cups of red raspberry tea and red clover tea is very good for balancing the hormones, and is excellent for fertility.
