I was wondering if anybidy had any advice and if possible please dont say to go back to GP as they are not very helpful, let me explain.
I am 27 years old (birthday yesterday)my partner nad i are try for a baby,i already have one beautiful baby girl of 2 years from a previous relationship.
Anyway before we started trying my periods were pretty normal ranging from every 32 to 37 days.
Westarted trying in march for a baby and since march i have not had a period!! i have now nearly missed three!!! Yes ive done laods and loads of pregancy tests all negaitve, ive had blood taken and urine sample taken and all show nothing. My partner and i are very confused as to why all of a sudden as soon as we started trying they have just mystreiously stopped???? I wouldnt say i am anymore stressed than usual and havent been obsessing over the fact of not being preganat but of where my periods have gone?????? Ive been back to my doctors five times now but all they say is that i must be stressed and this is what is prolonging my period?? I dont get i,my weight is normal,i eat well and exercise.what could be wrong.
I had a termination a year and half ago and am now a bit tormented that ive done damamge or that god is somehow paying me back,i mean who am i to choses when or when not to have a baby?? If someone can suggest something? Can the doc give me something? Does this mean im not ovulating? Does this mean its pointless me keep doing pregnancy tests every two weeks just incase? my partner and i are still having unprotected intercourse.Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.thanks
I would find go see an gyno. They may be able to answer some of your questions better than a gp. If you choose to continue to see a gp, I would look for one who will give you answers and not leave you this frustrated.
Have you considered the thoughts of meds? I know nobody wants to face that, but if there is no other reason for your periods to have stopped, sometimes you just need to jumpstart them again. Some people are very against using meds, and some are fine with it. I guess it just depends on where you stand on the issue. There's Clomid, Progesterone, etc.
I would also agree with southern belle in that you should get a doctor who actually wants to help. Maybe if you came back with research (for example: going back to your Dr. and saying "can we try Clomid" or something) they would be more helpful.
And if you don't think your GP can help, get to a gyno. They are more trained to handle things that are out of the ordinary.
Thanks for that, yeh i dont mind trying meds,i will admit i dont know much about them, why are some against them? whats the down side to them? i just dont know how long to leave it,my gp siad wait another month, should i?
I'm 29 & had a similar thing happen to me late last year. Started trying & 'lost' AF. In april I finally saw a fertility specialist after five months with no AF. Diagnosed with pcos za currently on first cycle of provera & clomid. It was such a releif when provera brought AF on Clomid seems to be just for extra chances.
